Set off to discover the sacred sites of Chartreuse, a mountain range steeped in history and deeply shaped by the presence of Carthusian monks over the centuries. Winding through forests, along quiet trails and across peaceful landscapes, this route offers a different way to experience Chartreuse, combining hiking, heritage and contemplation.
Depending on your pace, the route can be completed in a day or over 2 days. It links no fewer than 14 sacred sites, including monasteries, crosses, chapels and wayside shrines. A wonderful way to explore the range while discovering often-hidden sites nestled in the heart of the mountains.
Accessible from mid-season onwards, the route stays at relatively low altitudes, making it a great alternative when the higher peaks are still covered in snow.
