Trail dos Moinhos is organized by Sporting Clube Moitense, in partnership with the Parish Council of Moita dos Ferreiros, with the support of the Municipality of Lourinhã and several local associations. The event aims to promote physical activity and a healthy lifestyle, highlight the windmills of the parish and their cultural heritage, follow former paths used by millers, promote the name of Moita dos Ferreiros, and celebrate the National Windmill Day.
