Hengill Ultra 2016 - 80 km
The Hengill Ultra trail run takes its name from the Hengill volcano, which last erupted about 2000 years ago. Even though it hasn’t erupted for so long time, it is still considered active and on their way, runners need to be cautious as they will come across with hot springs and muddy roads.
The run starts off in Hveragerði, which is a small town of 2400 people, located in about one hour drive from the international airport in Keflavík and about 35 minute drive from the capital city, Reykjavík.
