Functions available on the web-site
Numerous functions are available on the Trace De Trail site. Each has a specific assistance key. Here is a quick preview.
Create and work with your tracks
You have access to a large range of tools which allow you to create, then work in detail on your routes. You may :
- Create routes from gpx/kml files, from an existing track, manually by adding your points one by one, or automatically from the search for the itinerary function.
- Modify your track by moving or erasing points, reversing the direction, short-circuiting...

Also, certain tools have been especially created for organisers. Go to the espace pro to know more.
Personalise your routes with the help of points of interest
You can enrich your track with points of interest, in the form of labels or icons. There is a panel of 25 icons, each available in 8 colours. Certain are specifically aimed at competitions (refreshment points, controls, assistance, relay, stage, time-barrier…). You can add up to 3 icons per point of interest.
Each point of interest can be personalised. You can also choose to put a point of interest on the map (with text and a photo in an information bubble) and/or on the altitude profile and/or on the table of passages. The latter supplies, for each point of interest constructed, the given distance, altitude and accumulation of the ascent/descent from the start and since the previous point of interest.

Save your provisional routes « privately »
You don’t want certain routes to become public because they are not finalised. You have the possibility of posting them privately. Then, as author of the track, it will only be you who can see it.
Create your maps or road-book in pdf format
Trace De Trail allows you to export maps in A4 pdf format. You can generate a general map of the route, either by creating a personalised road-book, or section by section. Choose your format (landscape or portrait), the map base, show your track and the profile and if you want, text. By creating the map and road-book also means that other trail-runners can have a printable version of your route.

Order a paper IGN map
For routes in France, you can also order a paper IGN map personalised with your track. The map is saved via Trace De Trail, all you have to do is to order it on-line from IGN. An ideal solution, having your favourite routes on one single map for your holidays, or for organisers who wish to display large format maps of the route on the day of the race.
Add a realisation
Trace de Trail allows you to share your outings by adding those you have done : the date of your outing, your time, the conditions encountered and several photos which will be useful to trail-runners who wish to run the same route !
